Luke Sterling, a University of Maine at Farmington freshman and former standout at Edward Little High School in Auburn, got his 15-minutes of fame  for an athletic flip throw-in goal during a Sunday soccer game against Green Mountain College.

The video shows the long, arching throw-in that  just grazes the fingers of the opposing goalie before bouncing into the net. The play has been viewed nearly 5,000 times on Facebook as of Wednesday morning.

According to the Sun Journal, sports television giant ESPN requested the school’s permission to use the video on its popular SportsCenter highlight show Wednesday.
