It's a pretty harrowing video to watch, but at the same time it's inspirational to see a trooper and another bystander work so hard to save someone's life.

In a video from May 2015, Maine State Trooper Douglas Cropper was in the middle of a traffic stop on the Fore River Bridge on I-295 in South Portland. After taking the unnamed driver's information, he returned to the car to give the driver his ticket when he saw that the man was having a health emergency.

According to an April 24 story in the Portland Press Herald, Cropper dragged the man, who was in the midst of a heroin overdose, from the car and worked on reviving him by the side of the road, later getting assistance from an emergency room nurse who drove by the scene.

The man was successfully revived by emergency personnel, and it shows true heroism at work!
