For many people, taking the entire family out for lunch or dinner has never really been cheap.

These days, as we all deal with crazy inflation, the cost has made it a once-in-a-while treat.

One well-known restaurant chain wants to help lower the cost of taking the family out for a meal.  The 99 Restaurants chain has brought back a deal that will allow your kids to eat for free.

When the Red Sox win, the kids eat for free

The day after the Red Sox win, your kids can get a free meal from the kid's menu when you purchase an adult-sized entree.

Keep in mind that the deal is one free kid's meal per adult entree purchased.  So if you only buy one adult meal, but have two kids, only one kid gets their meal for free.  And you do need to have a 99 Restaurants rewards membership.  You can sign up for that on their website.

There are some other perks for becoming a member of the rewards program.  Just for signing up, you'll get a free appetizer valued at $12.99.  You'll also get a free dessert on your birthday, and a surprise visit every third visit.

The first 99 Restaurant opened on State Street in Boston in 1952.

The company website says, in part:

Our founder, Charlie Doe, had an idea to create a restaurant that was more than a place that served great food. Charlie wanted to give locals a place where they’d always feel at home. A place where they could get no-nonsense food at down-to-earth prices, and where they’d be treated right.

As of 2024, there are over 70 locations across the northeast.  Most of those locations are in New England.
