As they were en route to the scene, it was reported that two teenagers had been in am altercation, resulting in one of the kids being stabbed in the shoulder.

By the time emergency crews arrived on scene at the school the two teens had been separated by others. Med-Care Ambulance arrived on the scene to find a 13-year-old student with a 'superficial' stab wound to the shoulder. The stabbing apparently happened during a wrestling meet being hosted at the school.

Following the response by emergency crews, the wrestling meet continued on as previously planned. Currently, no names have been released as those involved are minors. Additionally, it's unclear if either of the two teens involved will be facing any charges.

School Principal Cheryl Gurney, posted on the school's website in part,

“There was an incident tonight at the wrestling meet held at MVMS. The local police responded quickly and controlled the situation. They made sure the building was safe and there was not further risk. The wrestling meet is now proceeding as scheduled.”

This is a developing story and we will continue to keep it updated as more information becomes available to us.

As always, thank you to our area first responders for working so hard to keep our communities, and our children, safe.
