A Maine Man & Woman Found Dead After Apparent Domestic Violence Altercation

Police are investigating after a man and a woman have been found dead following what investigators believe to be a domestic violence altercation.

According to WGME 13, the events and discovery all began on Thursday morning in Bangor. Police say that they had responded to reports of 'shots fired' in the area of G Street in Bangor's Birch Hill Estates.

The Bangor Police Department responded to the scene with crisis negotiators and special crime scene robots. Sadly, the police discovered both the male and female in the residence had died.

At this time, details surrounding the event are fairly limited. Officials have not yet released the identity of the man or the woman. Additionally, investigators have not released to the public what the altercation may have been about, or which one of the deceased was the one with the firearm.

WGME 13 is also reporting that Bangor Police have indicated that following the situation that there is no ongoing threat to the public as this appears to have been an isolated domestic violence incident.
