A frightening new study from the National Safety Council revealed that an American is more likely to die of an opioid overdose or by suicide than a car crash.

According to the study, 1 in 96 Americans has a chance of dying from an opioid overdose which translates to more than 49,000 in 2017 making opioid overdoses the 5th leading cause of death in the U.S.

During the Federal Government shut-down, doctors are finding it increasingly difficult "to prescribe Buprenorphine, also known as Suboxone, a drug to manage opioid addiction" according to the New York Daily News, due to physicians needing to get approval from the DEA.
