The residents of an Auburn apartment building are safe thanks to their quick-thinking neighbor.

According to WMTW, an early Wednesday morning fire damaged an apartment building on Hazel Street in Auburn.

Reportedly, there were twelve people living in the four unit building.

Those on the top floor of the building are safe thanks to a quick-thinking neghbor who, when he saw the fire, grabbed a ladder and ran up to the building.

The fire, which was visible across the river in Lewiston, was still under investigation on Wednesday morning.
