Today, August 1, is World Wide Web Day.

The World Wide Web was conceived by Tim Berners-Lee in 1989 at the CERN centre in Geneva, Switzerland, as a way for him to communicate with co-workers via hyperlinks.

That makes the WWW 29 years old today. It seems like it has been around a lot longer and for some it has been here their whole life.

On they say the Web has now become the main means of communication for people around the world.
