Central Maine Supermarket Named One of the Best in America

We are fortunate that there are no real "food deserts" in Maine.

No matter where you go in our state, with the exception of a few really remote spots, you are never more than about a fifteen minute drive from a top-notch grocery store.  In addition to many locally-owned grocery stores, there are several chain grocery stores operating in our state.  These include Market Basket, Shaw's, and Hannaford.

Which Maine grocery store is the best?  Love Food has put out their list of the best grocery stores in each state and they selected a store in Central Maine has the best in Maine.

Hannaford on Cony Street in Augusta, Maine

Unlike many states, where the writers for the website selected a locally-owned store as the best in the state, the best store in Maine is part of a regional chain.  However, it is important to note that they selected a specific location of the chain, not the chain itself.

Love Food has selected the Cony Street, Augusta Hannaford as the best grocery store in the state.

One of the main reasons they selected this particular store was because of how environmentally friendly it is.
