Whether it was true or not, as kids, we always assumed that the families that had their own pools were filthy rich.  This was true whether they had an above ground pool or an in ground pool.  To us, it was all the same.  It was a pool!

Those of us who did not come from money needed to rely on our town's community pool.

Fortunately, in many communities, these pools are amazing, well-maintained, and free.  That's the case here in Augusta/

 

When Are the Augusta, Maine Community Pools Opening?

According to a post on the Augusta Parks & Rec Facebook page, the city's community pools will open for the season on Monday, June 22nd.  The pools will be open from 11 AM to 5 PM on Monday through Friday.  Of course, they'll be open weather permitting.

Pools open this summer include the Williams Park Pool on Bangor Street and the Calumet Pool on Northern Avenue.
