Following a lengthy investigation, members of the Maine DEA arrested three people at a building on Water Street in Augusta on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a press release from Augusta Police Chief Kevin, Lully, the incident happened at 163 Water Street in Augusta.

Arrested during the raid were 55-year-old Luis Mercado, of Boston.  He has been charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs, Possession of a Firearm, Falsification of Evidence, Refusing to Identify Himself, and Refusing to Submit to Arrest.

Also arrested were 35-year-old Steve Mallen, of Augusta.  He has been charged with Violation of Conditions of Release and Failure to Submit to Arrest.

Ashlie Whitmore, who is from Chelsea, was charged with Failure to Submit to Arrest.

*NOTE - All suspects are considered innocent until being found guilty in a court of law

During the raid, agents seized an unknown amount of drugs, cash, and firearms.
