Augusta Police Department Warning About Purse Thefts

As we enter the Holiday shopping season, the Augusta Police Department is warning consumers about a recent surge in in purse thefts at local stores.

They remind people that it only takes a thief a few seconds to steal a purse, pocketbook, or wallet.  They recommend that people never leave their purses visible and to always make sure that no money or other valuables are visible in your purse.

While the ongoing pandemic has many people planning to do much of their Holiday shopping online, please remember our local retailers.  Please consider supporting them.  Just take proper precautions - masks, social distancing, etc.
