Maine Airport Now Offering a Non-Stop Flight to an Unlikely Place
Despite the fact that Maine is a very rural state, we are lucky to have a handful of great commercial airports.
Between the Portland Jet Port, Bangor International Airport, and Augusta Regional Airport, you can fly to basically anywhere in the world. Of course, in most cases, you will need to take two to three flights to get anywhere someone would really want to go. However, our airports do offer a handful of direct flights.
Normally, these direct flights are to vacation destinations. For example, you can fly direct from Portland to Orland or Portland to Nashville.
The latest direct flight from Maine is a little surprising.
United Airlines Now Offering Bangor to Denver Flights
According to WABI, Bangor International Airport just announced a new seasonal nonstop flight to Denver on United Airlines.
This addition is a big deal.
This is officially the farthest west nonstop passenger destination ever served out of Bangor.
The Denver flight will run on Saturdays from June 27 through September 5, opening up a direct line from Maine to the western U.S. Airport officials say the new service expands Bangor’s reach in a major way, boosts options for both leisure and business travelers, and shows there’s still strong demand for more nonstop flights from our region.

Why Denver Non-Stop Flights to Denver?
When I first read this story, the choice of Denver did not make a lot of sense to. It's not a big vacation destination, like Orlando or Nashville. And, it's not a major financial city, like New York or Los Angeles. Right?
But, when you really think about it, it does make sense. As United Airlines' hub, you can basically get anywhere that United Airlines flies from Denver.
