These Maine Hospitals Are Some of the Best in the Country

Unless you are in the medical field, most people try their best to stay out of the hospital.

Nothing ruins your day quicker than needing to make a trip to the emergency room, right?

Of course, when we do need to visit a hospital we all hope that we are going to get the best care possible from doctors and nurses who have only your best interest in mind.  Fortunately, we are lucky to have some amazing medical personnel and healthcare facilies here in Maine.

Recently, Newsweek put out their list of the best hospitals in each state.  The medical facilities that they chose for Maine are among the best hospitals in the nation.

We expected to see some of the hospitals on the above list, like Maine Medical Center.  However, a few were kind of surprising.  Northern Maine Medical Center, for example.  Of course, we are sure they provide amazing care and it was kind of cool to see a hospital from Aroostook County make the list of the best hospitals in Maine.

Over the last few years, we have seen some big changes in the healthcare landscape of Maine.  Since the start of the pandemic, we have seen many hospitals scale back of the services that they offer.  Houlton Regional Hospital, for example, recently ended their birthing services.  In other cases, we have seen medical centers and hospitals outright close.

It is good to know that, despite those changes, we still have amazing hospitals and medical professionals here in Maine.
