According to WABI, Father John Skehan, who had been serving the Saint Michael Parish in Augusta, passed away suddenly on Wednesday afternoon.

At the time of his death, he had reportedly been visiting with friends.

According to the parish website, relatives and friends are invited to attend a reception at 4 PM on Sunday, September 4th.  That gathering will be held at Saint Augustine Church on Northern Ave in Augusta.

A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, September 5th at Saint Augustine Church.

Father Skehan, who was 66 years old, was a Maine native originally from the Town of Hampden.
