For the most part, this winter has been very mild.

Significant snow events have been few and far between.  In fact, there has been so much time between the storms, and the temperatures have been so high, that the snow has been melting between storms.

That being said, it looks like we have some good news for snow lovers.  Earlier this week, we reported that there were going to be several storms over the next week.  Earlier today, we got details about Friday's snowfall totals.

What Are the Chances of a 'Snow Day' in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts?

Are your kids going to have a snow day?  That depends on where in New England you are.

In most cases, the kids get a snow day when the snowstorm starts overnight.  In this case, the snow will start in Massachusetts in late morning and will reach Maine by late afternoon.

According to the Snow Day Calculator, the Augusta area has a 35% chance of having a snow day on Friday.  In Lewiston, there is only a 27% chance of having a snow day.  However, there is a decent chance that schools will get out early.

In New Hampshire's Mount Washington Valley, there is a very limited chance that schools will be closed.  In Portsmouth, there is an 18% chance that school will be canceled, but there is a good chance that the school could get out early.

The chances of Massachusetts kids having a day off tomorrow are very slim.
