Country News: FGL Bringing Hip-Hop Act on the Road

Florida Georgia Line‘s 2017 summer tour plans are set: The country duo will be hitting the road on the Smooth Tour 2017 and they’ll be bringing both a country and a hip-hop opening act. FGL have invited both Nelly and Chris Lane to join them on their Summer 2017 trek. Lane is currently on the road with Florida Georgia Line, while the duo’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley collaborated with Nelly on a remix of their debut single, ‘Cruise,’ in 2013, and have appeared with the hip-hop artist in concert and at awards shows.

A young cancer survivor who achieved internet fame after singing onstage with Garth Brooks is once again fighting the disease. In November 2016, Brooks offered a once-in-lifetime opportunity to recent high school graduate and cancer survivor Danielle El-Jor: a chance to sing with him onstage. The duet took place at Richmond Coliseum in El-Jor’s home state of Virginia. After meeting El-Jor the previous evening, Brooks’ wife Trisha Yearwood declared that since she missed her audition, El-Jor should get to sing onstage with Brooks — and she did. A few months after the magical performance, El-Jor has announced her cancer has returned as stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Maddie and Tae are all about spreading positivity and joy through their music, but when they visited St. Jude recently, they got to experience that themselves in an even more powerful way. The duo got to tour the hospital for the first time, and Maddie says even just stepping into the building was a special experience. Advocating for St. Jude is especially personal for the singer/songwriters, as both have recently lost loved ones to cancer.
