Country News: Jamey Johnson Concert Canceled Over Security Concerns
The House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina had to cancel a Jamey Johnson concert at the last minute. They said the reason was Safety and Security guidelines violations but the band is disputing it. According to theboot.com the band said they treated the band like a band a terrorists with metal detectors between their bus and the stage. The band did say safety of their fans is always a number one concern.
Brantley Gilbert is a new commercial for Apple Music. According to theboot.com the ad shows Gilbert riding a motorcycle down a country road with him listening to music on his Apple Music app. He’s listening to his current single ‘The One That’s Like Me’ as well as ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ and ‘Born to Be Wild.’
Phil Vassar will be at Aura in Portland on August 3 and his latest releases are ‘American Soul’ and ‘American Soul Summer.’ Vassar says the songs reminded him why he loves songwriting as much as he loves performing. But on the boot.com he says things have changed in the 20 years since he started and not necessarily for the best. He says the business has changed so much due to social media.
