
Country News: Mel Tillis Pass Away
Mel Tillis passed away at the age of 85. Tillis died Sunday morning following a long illness. The cause of death is believed to be respiratory failure. According to theboot.com Tillis is survived by six children (including country artist Pam Tillis) and six grandchildren, a great-grandson, a sister and a brother. He is also survived by Doris Tillis, the mother of five of his children, and his longtime partner, Kathy DeMonaco.
At the American Music Awards Carrie Underwood won Favorite Country Artist while Little Big Town won Favorite Country Band/Duo/Group. According to theboot.com Keith Urban won Favorite Country Album for Ripcord and Favorite Song for Blue Ain’t My Color and won Favorite Country Male Artist.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s Mississippi Woman, Louisiana Man is now open at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. On theboot.com they say the exhibit consists of Hill’s wedding dress, the couples childhood toys, pictures, awards (including McGraw’s Grammys) and other memorabilia. The exhibit will run through June, 2018.
