Do You Use A Ouija Board?
It's just a game, isn't it? What's to be afraid of? Also known as a spirit board, the ouija board has been used for years to communicate with spirits during a seance. It's just a wooden board with the letter of the alphabet, numbers 0 - 9 and the words YES - NO - HELLO. Seems harmless, right. Well, I refuse to allow a ouija board in my house.
I remember playing with one as a kid. You always blame your friend for moving the planchette (the small plastic heart shape piece) around the board. You play with it around candle light to set the mood. The questions are usually the same. Who's there? Where are you from? Bla Bla! Well, I had an experience one time that was so random it scared the snot out of me. It is for this reason, I do not allow this 'thing' in my house.
I was in the 6th grade. My best friend and I were playing with the ouija board. Typical 'you're moving it, no you're moving it' conversation going on. Here's how the conversation went:
US: Is anyone there?
SPIRIT: Yes
US: Who is with us?
SPIRIT: Devil
US: Prove it. Show us a sign
SPIRIT: Blood
My friend and I, leaving our hands on the ouija board, look up at each other and together we say 'blood?'. At that very moment, my 6 year old brother comes darting into my room frantic 'Sarah, I have a bloody nose'. HE'S NEVER HAD A BLOODY NOSE!!
I HAVE NEVER TOUCHED ANOTHER OUIJA BOARD!!!
