There is so much violence in this world that many of us have become desensitized to it.

However, the majority of us still get sickened when we hear about someone doing something terrible to a child.  That's exactly what happened to me when I first heard this story.

According to WMTW, Dominque Bailey, a man accused of assaulting a 5-year-old child in Massachusetts has been arrested in Maine.

The article explains that Bailey had multiple warrants out, including one from Massachusetts for three counts of assault and battery on a family or household member, along with strangulation or suffocation.

At the time investigators say the child was attacked, Bailey was already on probation in Maine for robbery.  He is now facing a probation violation charge here in Maine.

Marshals said Wednesday that the stolen vehicle tied to the case was recovered several weeks ago by the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department.  Since the vehicle was found in Maine, investigators believed Bailey had fled here and was staying with people he knew.  On Tuesday morning, members of a U.S. Marshals Service task force forced their way into a Lewiston home and arrested him.

Bailey is now charged as a fugitive from justice and is waiting to be extradited to Massachusetts. He will also face arraignment on new charges here in Maine in the days ahead.

*NOTE - All suspects are considered innocent until being found guilty in a court of law

We hope that the child is going to make a complete recovery.
