Chalk this up in the dumb criminal files.  Two Auburn men accused of robbing a Dunkin' Donuts in Lewiston now say it was all a joke. Here's how this all unfolded.

Lewiston, Maine police arrested Billy Wilson, 20, and Nicholas Gibbens, 24, both of Auburn early Sunday morning.

The police say that the clerk asked them what they wanted and they replied all of your money.

The Dunkin' Donuts worker then asked if they were robbing the store and the two said yes. Then the worker asked if they are joking and they said no.

That's when the worker, who had a concealed weapon permit, produced a handgun and pointed it at the two men. The clerk alerted another worker and told her to dial 911.

The men then claimed they were joking and didn't want to rob the store, they also left and were arrested shortly after fleeing the Dunkin' Donuts.
