One of the things that I have always been fascinated by is how, if you live in an area for more than a few years, you get to see that area go through some major changes.

Businesses open, then close, then a new business opens in that spot.  This happens dozens a times a year.

Sometimes, though, the changes are even more extreme.  Vacant buildings are torn down and brand new buildings are constructed in their place.

We recently told you about how a former wine shop in Augusta was torn down to make way for a new credit union.  Now, we are getting word about a new restaurant being built in a vacant lot in Waterville.

What is Being Built on Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville, Maine?

If you often drive KMD in Waterville, there is a good chance that you have noticed a construction project taking shape next to Dunkin'.  The lot, which for years has been overgrown with vegetation, has been cleared and it appears that a new building is being constructed.

Based on the signage on the perimeter fence, a new El Agave's location is being constructed there.

We're excited to see them expand with an additional location.  Of course, this early in the process, there is no telling when they might open the Waterville location.

El Agave's in Augusta, Maine

If the name El Agave's sounds familiar it is because they already have a location in Augusta.  Located in the old Ruby Tuesday spot at the Marketplace Augusta, they have quickly become one of Central Maine's favorite Mexican restaurants.

We wish them all the best with this new location.  In the meantime, you can check out their Augusta location.  Take a look at their menu HERE.
