Lewiston Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Street Shooting

According to an article on the WGME website, a Lewiston man is facing attempted murder charges after police say another man was shot during an altercation Monday evening.

Lewiston Police responded to the area of Bartlett and Walnut streets around 6 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Witnesses told officers that a brief altercation involving several men took place before gunfire erupted.

Police said a 21-year-old man was struck in the leg during the incident. He was transported to Central Maine Medical Center, where he remains in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Following an investigation, detectives identified the suspected shooter as 20-year-old Ethan Parrilla of Lewiston.

Parrilla was arrested and charged with attempted murder and elevated aggravated assault.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not released additional details about what led to the altercation.
