After two long years, one of the most loved festivals in Maine is back!

The 2022 Old Hallowell Day has been scheduled for Saturday, July 16th, 2022.

We all know that about the festival's big events, like the parade and fireworks, but the day is literally filled with events.

According to the Old Hallowell Day website, the parade will get kicked off at 10 AM and, as it has in years past, run down Water Street (the City of Hallowell's main thoroughfare).

Other events include the Hills & Thrills Bike Ride.  The ride starts at the boat landing at 7:15 and takes riders through Hallowell and the neighboring communities.

At 7:30, the Old Hallowell Day 5K Road Race gets kicked off at Vaughn Field.

The Old Hallowell Day "food court", which features a bunch of different food trucks, will be open at Granite Park from 9 AM to 9 PM.

There will be a bunch of live music all day long, too.  The Hallowell Community Band will play at 11 AM.  Swingtime will be plating at 11:30. Local favorite Pat Colwell will be performing at 5:30 and Old Hallowell Day steps back in time a half century with Hallowell Does 1972.

The day concludes with an amazing fireworks display over the Kennebec River in downtown Hallowell.

Of the fireworks, the website says:

The Grand Finale! Fireworks will be set off from the Kennebec River right in front of Hallowell. The fireworks will be presented by Central Maine Pyrotechnics. Bring the whole family and plan for dinner or a snack from our food trucks. New offerings, a variety for everyone. It’s a delightful way to cap off Old Hallowell Day.

Of course, once the fireworks are done, you can always spend the rest of the evening checking out some of the amazing bars in Hallowell.  The Quarry Tap Room and Easy Street to name just a few.
