As the pandemic winds down, and COVID switches to being endemic, we are starting to see the return of many of our favorite festivals and events.

After a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, Old Hallowell Day will return in 2022!

According to a post on the event's Facebook Page, the event will return on Saturday, July 16th!

The post says, in part:

After consulting with Hallowell's Board of Health, the Old Hallowell Day Committee has voted unanimously to move forward with this year's event, scheduled for July 16th! The committee will meet again in April to begin the planning process. Some events may change to meet public health guidelines. As always, we welcome ideas for changes and improvements from the community.

The event, which people often call Old Hallowell Days, eveoldhallowellday@gmail.comn though it only lasts one day, features an entire day of fun for young and old.

While there may be some early morning activities, the real fun gets kicked off with a parade, attended by thousands, down Water Street in Hallowell.  There are family friendly activities throughout the day.  Food trucks and other vendors set up on the waterfront, there is a massive fireworks display, and the day ends with several local bars featuring live entertainment.

If you want to be involved in the planning of this year's event, you can email the organizers at oldhallowellday@gmail.com
