It is kind of hard to believe that Independence Day 2022 is just a few days away.  And, like thousands of great towns and cities across the United States, the City of Augusta has a great 4th of July celebration planned.

Live music, games, food, fireworks, and, of course, a PARADE!

While many things about the parade are the same, there will be a few changes to the Augusta 4th of July Parade in 2022.

The Time

This year's parade will leave the State House parking lot at 10 AM.  Yes, the 2022 parade will be in the morning, NOT in the afternoon as it has been in recent years.

The Route

The parade's route will remain the same this year.  It will leave the State House parking lot, travel down Capitol Street, on to State Street, through the rotary, and down Water Street.  Working its way through downtown, it will turn onto Bridge Street, cross the bridge, and end at Old Fort Western.

100 Units

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Old Fort Western becoming a museum, the goal is to have 100 entries (units) in the parade.  If you are interested, you can enter your church, your charity organization, your neighborhood group, even your business.  Can you think of a better way to get the word out about your business?  Seriously, it puts you in front of thousands of potential customers.

If you are interested in being in the parade, call Wendy at 207.626,2350 before 4:30 on Friday (July 1st) afternoon.  There is no entry fee to be a part of the parade.

We all look forward to seeing you along the parade route THIS Monday at 10 AM!
