It appears that a small fire broke out at Augusta's Texas Roadhouse restaurant.

According to the KJ, firefighters were called to the restaurant for a small kitchen grease fire at about 12:40 on Tuesday afternoon.  Fortunately, only staff were in the restaurant.  On most mid-week days, the restaurant does not open to customers until 3 PM.

The article explains that, according to Augusta Fire Chief Dave Groder, a grease fire had started in the kitchen before it spread through the roadhouse’s exhaust system and into the ceiling panels and "roof membrane".

All available firefighters from Augusta responded to the fire.  Additionally, firefighters from Winthrop and Togus responded as mutual aid.

There were no injuries reported.

When we called the restaurant at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, we were greeted with a recorded message saying the restaurant was temporarily closed and would hopefully reopen soon.

We hope they are able to make the needed repairs and reopen soon.  Until then, you can check out other locations for the chain HERE
