Food Storage Mis-match- Does This Happen To You?

I did it. I opened my drawer that holds all of my plastic containers and it was a mess. It was such a disaster that I took everything out and started sorting.

How many of you can relate? You ignore the mess until one day you can’t take it any more. So you start matching each container to a lid. Forty-five minutes later I now have 12 lids that match absolutely nothing.

How does this happen? Do they grow legs? Maybe the meet up with all the lost socks and disappear into the enchanted forest never to be heard from again. More than likely if I made a valiant effort, I would find some containers. At this point they would have to be thrown away because, well, yuck.

I threw away all of the lids even though there was this part of me that was thinking What if I throw them away and THEN find the containers? I also threw away two containers that were really past their prime. It was stressful but I did it. And now I’m the proud owner of a fully organized drawer and I have the pictures to prove it! I also feel quite accomplished. And it someone finds out where all those containers go without their lids, let me know.

Otherwise a bi-annual trip to Sam's Club is in order to restock.
