How to Save Big on Ride Bracelets at the Fryeburg Fair

When it comes to New England fairs, the Fryeburg Fair is truly legendary.

Since the 1850s, the fair has been held in Western Maine. Over the years, the event has grown in size and scope. As of 2026, it is the largest fair in the state. While Maine-centric, the fair attracts people from all over New England (and beyond).

If you have kids or teens who love riding the rides, you know that the best deal is usually getting a ride bracelet.

Of course, the big pain is the cost of the bracelets. Typically, they are not cheap. And, if you happen to go on a day when there is a deal on the bracelets, the crowds are massive.

The good news is that there is a solution!

According to a post on the Fryeburg Fair Facebook page, the company running the midway at this year's fair will be offering a ride bracelet special. In honor of our nation's birthday, bracelets will only be $17.76 (get it?) between July 1st and July 4th.

How much of a savings is this? We're not really sure. The prices for this year's bracelets have not been posted, but we can tell you that last year the bracelets were between $30 and $35 per day. We would assume that they are going to be at least that much.

About the Fryeburg Fair

According to the Fryeburg Fair website, the Fryeburg Fair is officially known as the West Oxford Agricultural Society, which was incorporated on June 3, 1851, with ten member towns in Maine.

The organization later expanded across the border, adding five New Hampshire towns in 1888 and a sixth in 1906. Today, the Society includes 16 Maine communities and six from New Hampshire, making it a truly regional event that has united neighbors for well over 170 years.

Believe it or not, the fair didn't always call Fryeburg home. During its early years, it traveled from town to town before the Society voted to make Fryeburg its permanent location. The fair held its first event under its own roof in 1858, but it didn't stay there forever. As the event grew in popularity, it outgrew the site and moved to its current location in 1885.

Today, the fairgrounds span more than 180 acres and feature roughly 100 buildings. It takes more than 40 departments and about 600 employees to keep everything running during the eight-day event held each October.

While the rides, food, concerts, and crowds may grab most of the attention, the mission has remained the same since the beginning: promoting agriculture and educating the public. That's what the Fryeburg Fair was built to do, and it's still doing it generations later.
