According to News center Maine, 3 year old Nolan Desmond is now blind due to Retinoblastoma, but that hasn't stopped his father from showing him the world.

Every week, Desmond and his father visit somewhere new in New England.  Often, they visit somewhere with water (a river, waterfall, or the ocean) because there are multiple senses involved.

Nolan was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma in both eyes when he was just a baby.  According to Wikipedia, it is a rare cancer that develops in the immature cells of the retina.  This often leads to blindness, or even forcing the removal of the eyes.

People have suggested he write a blog about his adventures with Nolan, but he feels that is not what the trips are about.
