Grab Your Umbrellas, Maine & New Hampshire Are About to Get Absolutely Dumped On
What's that old phrase we Mainers love to use this time of the year? Oh yeah, April showers bring May flowers. Well, with the amount of rain forecast for the area over the next couple of days, we should all be in full bloom before you know it.
According to WGME 13 Meteorologist, Matt Hoenig, a very wet storm system is moving into New England over the next 24 hours that will produce a good amount of rain for most residents.
Matt says that for the most part, we can expect Thursday night to remain fairly dry. However, as we head into the very early hours of Friday morning, things will begin to pick up. Hoenig says that the largest span of downpours will happen between 2AM and 10AM Friday morning.
WGME tells us that for people who commute on Friday, whether to work, school or otherwise, it's still going to be 'soggy' as period of rain, heavy at times, and downpours are still likely through Friday morning.
Though some places will likely receive more than an inch or rain, it's not all bad news. WGME reports that headed into the weekend days we're likely to see periods of sun. Temps Thursday will be around 50 for Central Maine. Then 52 Friday, 56 Saturday and 54 on Sunday.
