The town of Hallowell is getting ready to move a centuries old house to make room for a new parking lot.

The house, built in 1792 by Nathaniel Drummer and known as the Drummer House was donated to Maine Preservations by Linda Bean the granddaughter of L.L. Bean. The city plans to buy the land were the house sits and are currently in negotiations for the cost of the land.

According to usnews.com, If all goes well the project is should begin next year.
