Hallowell city councilors decided Tuesday night to pull the marijuana-selling license of Derek Wilson, owner of the Cannabis Healing Center. Apparently, there was a 25-year old disorderly conduct charge on his record that he did not disclose during the application process. However, in the same motion, Hallowell did GRANT a marijuana-selling license to a woman with multiple criminal drug convictions.

Wilson says he was told on Tuesday by city manager Nate Rudy that he must close down his store. He was told that if he continued to sell marijuana at his store then he would be arrested. Wilson also said that the 25-year old charge in question was a disorderly conduct charge that resulted in a fine of $100.00.

It is unclear the specific criminal drug convictions of the woman who was approved the license to sell marijuana.
