Hear A Loud Noise? It Could Have Been An Ice Quake
Have you heard any strange, rumbling sounds lately? Something that sounded kind of like thunder. It could have been an ice quake.
According to WCSH 6, ice quakes, or cryoseism, happen when the temperature goes from warm to a deep freeze very quickly. The water in the ground freezes quickly (and expands) causing the Earth to move.
