We've been in the midst of a heat wave here lately, but now it looks like Central Maine is going to be in for some heavy rain.

A look at the radar from the National Weather Service, shows a huge storm front moving into Central Maine as of 11:35AM on Friday, Aug. 12.

Hot and humid conditions are expected again today with temperatures exceeding 90 degrees in many locations with the heat index reaching the mid to upper 90s. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible today as a cold front moves into the region from the north and interacts with a hot, humid air mass. A few storms could be severe with damaging winds the primary threat, along with torrential downpours and localized flooding.
