As we have been doing since March of 2020, most of us continue to search for leisure activities that take us outside.  First, these outdoor activities are typically less likely to spread COVID.  Second, we live in Maine – a place where we have thousands of acres of pristine wilderness.  And third, in many cases, they are a lot more affordable than the indoor activities we had been doing until early 2020.  Unfortunately, winter activities often tend to be more expensive than the spring, summer, and fall activities.

This is especially true when it comes to activities like skiing and snowboarding.

There are deals out there, if you know where to look.  These deals are often on "off" times.  They are in the middle of the week or during certain evenings.

One of the best examples of these deals is the Tuesday evening special that Auburn’s Lost Valley Ski Area offers.  On Tuesdays, from 3 PM to 8 PM, during LL Bean Family Nights, you can get lift tickets for only $20!  Actually, the general tickets are $20, but tickets for kids under the age of 6 can ski for only $5!

Skiing and board is a great way to enjoy nature in Maine at the same time you’re getting your exercise.  And, it is perfect for people who love thrills.  There is no great exhilaration than screaming down a ski slope.

Of course, pending conditions, the mountain is open seven days a week.  And, even though tickets are not as cheap as they are on Tuesday afternoons, they are still affordable the other days.  Midweek tickets prices are about $36.  On the weekends, it is a little more expensive with all day ticket prices at about $60.

For the dedicated skiers and boarders, the mountain also has several race leagues.

If there is a park that needs to be on our list, let us know by messaging us through our app or on Facebook.
