It is hard to believe that we are just a few weeks away from our Camp Out Hunger food drive.

This year's food drive will take place between Monday, November 4th, and Friday, November 8th.

As in years past, the food drive will take place at Sam's Club in Augusta.

We will be camped out around the clock collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the Capital Region Salvation Army.  That means that what we collect stays right here in Central Maine.  When you donate, you'll be helping to feed your friends, coworkers, and even your classmates.

Speaking of schools, we are looking for the help of our local elementary and high schools.

We are encouraging our local elementary and high schools to host mini-food drives in their classrooms.  Then, during our Camp Out Hunger food drive, we are asking that you drop that collected food off with us at Sam's Club.

Being a part of Camp Out Hunger is a beautiful way for students to learn about the hunger plaguing our state and to get involved. They get to give back and work together to support their community. Too many kids in Maine schools are already hungry and it shouldn't be a problem at all.
