Country singer, and American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery will be performing in Maine next month.

According to the Portland Press Herald, he'll be taking the stage at Portland's Carnaval ME winter festival on February 26th.

This is according to an announcement from Shamrock Sports and Entertainment, the organizer of the event.  Tickets for the show will be $15, but you can also get a dining pass for $65.  Additionally, proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test will be required for entry into the event.

Carnaval ME, a winter festival loosely modeled after the popular Brazilian event, is scheduled to run February 17th through February 26th of 2022.  The event will feature food, craft beers, ice sculpting, skiing and snowboarding demonstrations, train rides and lots of live music.  Other bands and acts scheduled to perform include Maine's The Ghost of Paul Revere, Motor Booty Affair, Hello Newman, and the Jason Spooner Band.

According to Wikipedia, Scotty first got interested in music when he was about six because he read a book about Elvis.  He started playing guitar at the age of nine.  He took part in several local singing competition before competing on, and winning, American Idol in 2011.

McCreery is known for his hit songs "Five More Minutes", "This Is It", and "You Time".
