Central Maine Restaurant in Businesses For Nearly 40 Years Announces Permanent Closure
Considering how fast some eateries come and go, you would think that the closure of a restaurant or bar would never phase us.
While this is often the case, sometimes the closure shocks us because that particular restaurant has been around for as long as anyone can remember.
That is the case with the recent announcement that the Heritage House in Skowhegan, Maine was sold and would be closing.
The Heritage House in Skowhegan
Located on Madison Avenue in the small Maine town of Skowhegan, the Heritage House has been welcoming guests and serving up incredible meals for nearly four decades. The restaurant was opened by David and Cheri Savage in 1987!
You can read more about the history of the business HERE.
A Friday morning Facebook post broke the news of the closure to the restaurants thousands of fans.
The post said, in part:
We’ve loved every minute of it — the meals shared, the stories told, and all the familiar and new faces that have become friends. It’s been a joy and a privilege to serve this community, and those memories will stay with us for a long time.It was simply time to move on, and we’re excited to see what the new owners have planned for this place. We know they’ll bring something wonderful to town, and we can’t wait to see it take shape.
So, there is a little good news. While The Heritage House is closing, there is hope that a new, amazing, restaurant will open in its spot.
Even though we are bummed to see the restaurant closed, we are excited for what will come next in the location.
