Miranda Lambert will receive a major honor on Tuesday (Aug. 30) during the 10th Annual ACM Honors in Nashville, Tenn. The singer will be recognized with the inaugural ACM Merle Haggard Spirit Award at the ceremony held at the Ryman Auditorium. According to a press release, the honor is awarded to “uncompromising artists in the spirit of Merle Haggard.” The award will be given to Lambert, who was voted the first recipient by the ACM Board.

Taylor Swift not only fulfilled her civic duty by appearing at a Nashville courthouse on Monday, but she also silenced the deafening discourse surrounding her mysterious decision to skip the MTV Video Music Awards last night. It turns out Swift just got called in for jury duty. Several of Swift’s fellow jurors took photos and video of her and said she seemed to be in unusually high spirits for someone trapped in the endless misery that is jury duty. She arrived at the courthouse around 8AM, and “was very kind,” according to a source.

Awards show season drawing near. Tomorrow (Aug. 31) three country acts will reveal the final nominees for the 2016 CMA Awards. Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban and Cam are set to appear live from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn. to announce the final nominees for the 50th annual awards show. The reveal will be broadcast live on Good Morning America.
