Even though Maine has, over the last few decades, really become know as a 'foodie state', many people still believe that Southern Maine is the only spot in the Pine Tree State to find really good restaurants.

Those of us who have really explored the state know that nothing could be farther from the truth.

Sure, Portland's Old Port has some amazing restaurants.  No one is denying that.  But, some of the best restaurants in New England are found far from Cumberland County.  In fact, Kennebec County is filled with unbelievable eateries.

We've dug into Yelp to develop a list of the best eateries in Augusta, Maine.  Yeah, we are taking a look at the best that Maine's capital city has to offer.
