If your family has spent much time adventuring in New England, there is a good chance that you have visited the Mount Washington Valley of New Hampshire at least a few times.

While there are several major towns that make up the Mount Washington Valley, like Glen & Madison, for example, the hub of all the action is definitely North Conway.

North Conway, New Hampshire, is where you'll find the majority of the tax-free shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, and other entertainment venues.  In addition to the sprawling outlet malls & hotels of the strip, the town has a really cool village that is filled with neat shops and locally-owned restaurants.

Hood Celebrates North Conway With A Special Ice Cream

Massachusetts-based dairy company Hood is showing the iconic tourist town some love by giving North Conway its own ice cream flavor.

The Hood website has described it as:

Peppermint Ice Cream with Peppermint Candies and Chocolate Cookie Crumb Swirl

Yes, it is as tasty as it sounds!

While we are not sure of all the places where you can get the North Conway ice cream, we do know that select Hannaford stores are carrying it.

The History of Hood

Back in 1846, after spending two years delivering milk for other farms, Harvey P. Hood decided people deserved something better. Fresher milk. More reliable milk. Milk that actually lived up to the word “quality.” So he started his own business. And Hood has been raising the bar on dairy ever since.

That same mindset still drives the company today. Harvey Hood wouldn’t work with just any farmer, and neither does Hood now. Their milk comes from farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones, who hold themselves to high quality standards, and who believe humane animal care is non-negotiable.

These days, the company is known for more than milk.  They also make ice cream and are responsible for the iconic "Hoodsie" cups.
