Huge Powerball Jackpot Drawing Creates New England Millionaires

Across the country, millions of regular lottery players have spent the last few months watching the Powerball jackpot grow, and grow, AND GROW.  In the end, the jackpot for Wednesday's Powerball drawing hit a whopping ONE BILLION DOLLARS!  Admit it, you hear Dr. Evil's voice in your head every time you think about one billion dollars.  Yeah, we thought so.

According to Fox News, Wednesday's (July 19th) drawing was just the third time the jackpot has ever reached that epic milestone.

Following Wednesday's drawing, we did end u p with a winner.  There was one jackpot winner in the State of California.

Yes, unfortunately, Maine still does now have a Powerball winner.  In two decades of Powerball in Maine, we have never had a jackpot winner.  That's alright, though.  We'll get one eventually.

Million Dollar Powerball Winners

According to the Powerball website, despite the fact that only JACKPOT winner was in California, New England does have a few new millionaires thanks to the drawing.

As of this morning (July 20th), there was a million dollar winner in New Hampshire, there were three million dollar winners in Massachusetts, and there was a million dollar winner in Connecticut.

At this point, we don't know exactly where those winning tickets were sold, but if you purchased tickets in one of those states, you may want to check your tickets.
