Traffic Alert: Busy I-95 Exit in Maine Will Be Temporarily Closed For Road Work
Most Maine residents understand that, along with summer tourist traffic, comes summer road construction.
Over the last few years, Central Maine has had to deal with several lengthy construction projects that have caused traffic issues. These include the replacement of the Ticonic Bridge and the replacement of an Augusta bridge that takes traffic over the I-95.
Now, we are getting word that another construction project may cause some traffic issues. Fortunately, it looks like this one will be completed in a matter of hours.
According to an article in the Pen Bay Pilot, Exit 113 off the I-95 in Augusta will be shut down from 9 PM on August 19th to 6 AM on August 20th and from 9 PM on August 20th through 6 AM on August 21st.
During these shutdowns, which will affect both the north and south sides of the interstate, new curbs will be installed.
There will be signs showing detoured drivers where to go. Additionally, emergency vehicles will still be able to access MaineGeneral.
It is important to remember that these projects are weather dependent and that nasty weather may cause them to be delayed.
