Reminder: All Maine & New Hampshire Post Offices Will Be Closed Monday
Even though technology, like online bill paying and email, has made the U.S. Postal Service less important than it once was, it is still vital for many people and organizations.
Sometimes, it really is just easier to mail a check. Also, it makes a great cost-effective way to ship a package that does not need to be there tomorrow and nothing beats the feeling of getting a hand-written note from a loved one.
Why Are Post Offices Closed on Monday?
If you normally send or receive a lot of mail through the United States Postal Service, you are going to want to keep in mind that post offices will be closed and there will be no mail delivery on Monday.
The closure is in honor of the President's Day holiday.
A federal holiday, President's Day is meant to honor George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. However, it is often felt that the holiday is meant to honor the birthdays of all U.S. Presidents.
As it is a federal holiday, you can expect banks, schools, and the stock exchange to also be closed on Monday.
What Will Be Open?
Unlike major holidays, like Christmas and Thanksgiving, almost everything else will be open.
According to The Sun, grocery stores and retail stores will be open. So, you won't need to worry about stocking up on food or drinks.
Also, Amazon and FedEx will be delivering on Monday.
