Is This The Moment When Darius Rucker Became A Country Star?
When I was a teen, Darius Rucker was the voice behind the band Hootie & The Blowfish. In fact, people would often refer to HIM as "Hootie". In reality, the band was named after people they had gone to college with, but that's a story for another time.
Now, over 20 years later, he's a country legend! Personally, I like him way better as a country singer than as a pop singer.
But, between pop songs like "Hold My Hand" and "Only Wanna Be With You" and country hits like "It Won't Be Like This For Long" and "Wagon Wheel" Rucker did a country-themed Burger King commercial. This is my personal opinion, but I believe this is what helped make him go the country route.
