Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Maine Leaves One Dead on I-95 in Sidney
A fatal motorcycle crash in Sidney is under investigation by Maine State Police.
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, authorities say the crash happened Saturday, April 18, 2026, at approximately 5:36 p.m. on I-95 northbound near mile marker 120. Troopers received multiple reports of a crash involving two motorcycles traveling together.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 61-year-old Adam Robinson of Sangerville and a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 28-year-old Jayson Lancaster of Carmel were traveling north when the crash occurred.
Police say both riders had just passed another vehicle and were merging back into the right lane. Investigators believe Robinson’s motorcycle suffered a mechanical issue that caused the brakes to seize. Robinson was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lancaster, who was riding close behind Robinson, was unable to avoid the crash. He was also ejected from his motorcycle and transported to a local hospital with what were described as minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Maine State Police Trooper Keenan Blier at 207-973-3700, extension 9. Sidney Rescue and the Maine Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
