Maine Warden Service Investigating Green Lake Jet Ski Crash

A jet ski rider was seriously injured Thursday evening following a collision with a boat on Green Lake in Dedham.

According to the Maine Warden Service, the crash happened around 7 p.m. when a jet ski operated by a 27-year-old man and a boat operated by a 64-year-old woman crossed paths and collided.

Three passengers were also onboard the boat at the time of the crash.

Wardens say the jet ski rider was thrown from the watercraft and suffered severe cuts to his left arm.

According to WGME, other boaters who were nearby quickly responded to the scene and began helping the injured man while waiting for emergency crews to arrive.

The jet ski rider was later taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment of his injuries.

Authorities did not report any other injuries involving the people who were onboard the boat.

The Maine Warden Service is continuing to investigate what led to the collision.

Officials have not yet released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether speed, visibility, operator error, or any other factors may have played a role.

The incident happened during the busy summer boating season, when lakes and waterways across Maine often see increased traffic from boats, jet skis, and other recreational watercraft.

The investigation remains ongoing.
