2 New York Men Accused of Holding Lewiston, Maine Postal Workers at Knifepoint

Two men, both from New York, have been charged with multiple crimes involving Maine branches of the Unites States Postal Service.

According to an article published by WGME 13, the alleged crimes began back in January where, over a week-long period, two New York men are accused of breaking into multiple post offices in Paris and North Monmouth.

Winston McLeod and Lance Funderburk, both of New York, are accused of stealing mail, money and post office keys during the alleged January break-ins.

Then, later in the month of January, officials say that those same two men robbed Lewiston postal carriers at knifepoint and demanded their keys and said they would stab them if the didn't comply.

At this time, both Winston McLeod and Lance Funderburk have been indicted by a federal court.

WGME is reporting that if the men are convicted of the alleged crimes, they each could face up to 25 years in federal prison on the counts of robbery, up to five years in prison on the conspiracy charges and up to 5 years in prison for the felony burglary counts.
